Monica Macchelli

Born and educated in Milan, Italy, Monica Macchelli received her degree in Public Relations/ Communications from Università IULM, Milan, Italy followed by an additional degree in Herbal Technologies from the University of Pisa, Italy.

Monica is the proprietor of “La Bottega delle Erbe”, a specialty health and herbal supply store located in Chiavari, Genoa, Italy. In addition to owning the store, Monica lectures on subjects concerning the healing properties of many of the herbs found locally and will be leading our discussion as we hike through the hills of Portofino.

Monica is multi-lingual. In addition to Italian, she speaks fluent English, French and German. She practices yoga, is an avid skier, cyclist and swimmer. She also enjoys taking long walks in nature, cooking, reading and travelling. Most of all, she is delighting in caring for her baby boy, Giona, born in April 2009!
